I am proud to say I have over 400 followers on my blog! Thank you all so much! I am amazed daily at the diversity of everyone who reads my blog. So many people from all over the world! And I am even learning about places I’ve never heard of! So thank you for the education as well!
Yesterday ended up being busy even though it wasn’t supposed to be. After a bit of driving Chris and I found the annual Pig Roast that are small community puts together. It’s actually pretty awesome. For such a tiny town (if you blink as you go through Rapid City (MICHIGAN) you will miss it) there is a lot of community support. We’ve lived here almost 20 years and this was the first one that we attended. We tried once before but I honestly don’t remember why we weren’t able to stay. Normally I worked on Saturday so there was no chance of me going. (Did I mention how nice it is to have a life again?)
They had pulled pork (plain or barbeque), rolls, hot dogs and baked beans that were being cooked over a big fire in a cast iron pan (need I say yum?). There was water and lemonade as well. We got there about 3:30 quarter to 4pm so most of the hubbub was over (noon to 6pm was how long things were supposed to go on). There had been a car show that we missed. But there was a live bluegrass band (they were actually pretty good), laser tag and other things for people to do. Most of them sat under the tent or stood around shooting the breeze. It was a really fun time. I met some of the guys from the campgrounds behind where I work and introduced Chris. A good time was had by all.
After that we headed to Tractor Supply for kibble for the kids. We wandered around and oooed and ahhhhed over some things (me it was mostly stuff for the yard and to help with my gardening). But Essie did get a new frisbee since he old one broke in half.
From there we did some grocery shopping. Once again I wandered into the small plant section. I was wondering if I should get some of the succulents in small pots that they had. I really really wanted to. But I gotta do bills first. Sometimes I really hate adulting! So we headed home with our food stuffs. Not long after we got home we heard the roar of my namesake as our friend Josh pulled in on his Suzuki (yes he named the bike after me). After hearing of his recent ticket acquisition and having a few laughs I took him on the grand tour of the still unfinished garage (did I mention it has now officially been over a year since this “have it done before fall” project began?). He wanted us to come to his new place for a bonfire but we had already settled in for the night. I feel bad because we’ve still not been out there and I think he’s been there a few weeks already. But we’ve decided that next weekend we are going to make it a point to stop by for a bit.
After Josh left I settled back to finish my movie and Chris went back to gaming. I chatted online with a few friends as well. The cool thing is I am meeting one of my friends from work Tuesday to do lunch. I really am looking forward to seeing her again. So Tuesday will be fun!
I got to bed way to late for me as the kids started around 5am (why?) but I managed to doze off and on til around 8am. It will be another sunny and warm day here so I think a lot of time will be spent outside. I hope everyone has a great day! Cheers!
